The best way to get rid of wasps nests

by | Jul 19, 2013 | Pest Control

There are different kinds of wasps, some of their hives are not difficult to get rid of, and others are and all waspsa nests should be removed with care. All that is needed to accomplish Sacramento wasp control is a good insecticide or citrus oil spray and a good dose of common sense. At night, wasps return to their hives, this is when the hive should be doused. Douse the hive quickly and thoroughly with the spray and then leave quickly. The spray should take effect overnight. Although there are some wasps that are not overly aggressive, wear protective clothing to avoid getting stung.

There are a number of different types of wasps and they all nest differently.

Paper wasp:
The paper wasp is the most common by far, their nests are simple to identify as they appear as a grey, papery like comb. Paper wasps rarely sting; they are docile and easy to get rid of. The hives are usually found up under the eaves of a building, they can also be found on window frames and on porches.

Hornet wasp:
The hornet wasp is highly aggressive and when dealing with this insect you have to work quickly to avoid being stung. It is not as easy to eliminate the hornet wasp due to the location of the nest, usually high in a tree. When Sacramento wasp control is faced with eliminating the hornet wasp, a projectile spray that has sufficient power to shoot a stream of insecticide foam is used. The foam is easy to see so the entire nest can be covered completely.

Yellow Jacket wasps:
The yellow jacket wasp is by far the most aggressive, they build their hives below ground and you often only find out about them when you inadvertently step on the nest. This sets the wasps off and they will pour out of the entry to the nest and begin stinging. Unlike a bee, a wasp can sting over and over again. When faced with eliminating a yellow jacket nest, locate the entrance which may look like a mole hole. After the wasps have returned for the night, douse the hole with insecticide and be ready to block the hole.
